It is beyond curious as to how when it comes to medical medicine, that the ingredient list is not available to us...the patient a.k.a...client!

Cookies and candy and soda and shampoo and toothpaste, and everything else that is sold to us to consume, ingest, and bath in...come with an elaborate list of ingredients, that we are then able to research on our own, and make a clear decision about.

When it comes to Doctors and their recommendations and suggestions, we tend to show up like sheep, trusting blindly, and hoping all will be safe, but never really 'knowing'.

Spain actually withdrew just that batch of Gardasil. On February 19 Spain resumed its vaccination program because the European Medicines Agency said that it had reviewed the two cases and determined that they were “unlikely” to be related to vaccination with Gardasil.

I wouldn't touch Gardasil personally, but those are the facts.

The Paralysis issues sound like Guillain-Barré syndrome, something that hit 500 people, and killed 25, from the failed Swine Flu vaccine of 1976.

The overall protection figures Erin gives makes one wonder if this vaccine is worth it.

All the more reason to protect my daughters by advocating abstinence and a monogamous relationship after marriage. These two things alone will prevent, if not entirely eliminate, the risk of my daughters contracting HPV.

I'm from Montevideo, Uruguay, South America.
Here, in my country, the vaccine is optional, parents must dicide and pay 150 dollars each dosis (very expensive for us), and is not part of National General Vaccine.

And the comments and the no obligation to use this vaccine, make me bad ideas, because if the vaccine is so good, for what reason de poor people can not access to these. for what reason the goverment allow that the people decide if use or not use this vaccine?

- find someone to explain how HIGHLY PURIFIED VIRUS-LIKE PARTICLES (VLP'S) is obtained, what chemicals they use, what are the traces left in the vaccine.

- then check with that person what is happening when you have traces of those chemicals used + aluminium adjuvant + L histidine + borax. Look for effects on human erythrocytes, pancreas enzymes etc etc.

- look for any connection between VLP vaccines and diabetes.

I just want to correct some of the information in this blog though.

Gardisil vaccinates against four HPV strains: 2 of the strains cause 70% of cervical cancer cases and the other 2 strains cause 90% of genital wart cases. It's not a 9% protection rate, but much more than that. There are many HPV virus strains, but the most life threatening are the ones this vaccine seeks to prevent.

I completely agree though, that even one life lost to a vaccine needs to be researched. The FDA is of course wary of pulling a vaccine they previously approved off the market, but at what expense?

Thank you Erin for the article on Gardasil. Every word that is posted for the public to read is a word that may some day take Gardasil off the market. This fight against Gardasil is a very daunting and sometimes fruitless fight, but I feel that every girl that decides against having the vaccine is one more girl that we may have saved from death. Although it was to late for my daughter Jessie and the many others that have died from this vaccine, I will keep trying to get the word out. GARDASIL KILLS. Thank you.

A little quote I found on the Atomic Veterans site reminds me a lot of the Gardasil fiasco:

I am pleased to see you addressing this subject. I am a nurse and mother of a 12 yr old daughter and have been slightly confused about the vaccine. After reading your blog and then doing some research on my own I have decided against it. What I found is that a lot like the varicella vaccine "chicken pox" that has just been out a long enough period to see results, which are young adults getting shingles which is a form of varicella and can be life threating kids would be better off to have chicken pox than shingles. So is this the same? I think we should wait until they work out all the "kinks" on this one before we let our daughters be the test subjects.

My husband is a victim of the military's mandatory vaccine program and was disabled at 30 in Iraq from the anthrax vaccine. He had been given 15-20 different vaccines over his military career but the anthrax vaccine was the one that finally shut his bodily functions down. And then the military still insisted that he get the flu shot while on med hold! We have done extensive research on this subject and the bottom line is VACCINES ARE BIG BUSINESS - not only for the drug companies but also for the FDA. Until we insist that the FDA stop collecting "fees" from these pharmaceutical companies, this is never going to end. The makers of these vaccines are in bed with the FDA and it needs to STOP! The agency that is supposed to protect us from harmful food and drugs is being paid off so how could they objectively evaluate new vaccines or drugs. New vaccines are just another product line these drug companies come up with to make more money. If the FDA pulls them, then they lose their "customers." I would be interested to see how it works in Spain in regards to their version of the FDA. WE must demand reform of the FDA!!!!!

Thank you for your blog. We have to act quickly. I'm a teacher and many of my female students who have taken the gardasil have symptoms of brain tumors. Within a few months many of those young women will be dead and other young women will have become infertile. The fight against gardasil needs to be very aggressive. Does anyone have any ideas how we can organize? The entire country has to unite to remove this vaccination. But realistically there are many people that will believe that the vaccination is "healthy" because they are blind or brainwashed. So even if we can convince 20 percent of Americans we can be successful in a fight to remove the vaccination. We truly have a very urgent situation.

You are an inspiration to us all! Thank you for addressing this subject. I was very concerned about this vaccine the moment that they put it on the market. In a way, I feel that this is like pre-meditated murder because the people who make and approve these products know that death will occur, but approve it anyway! It is truly sad that the FDA and the CDC are only concerned about one thing...MONEY! This has been proven many of times in the past with drugs that have been taken off the market because of their dangerous side effects. These products should be tested for many years before they are approved. Instead, it is tested on our society because money seems to be more important than human lives. In any circumstance, RISK SHOULD NOT OUTWEIGH THE CAUSE, especially when it results in DEATH!!! Erin, Thank you for continueing your support for our girls whose lives have forever been changed from this dangerous vaccine. My daughter now has chronic pancreatitis, as well as neuroligal problems after receiving just one Gardasil vaccine (not the recommended 3 doses). The news today is covered with the SWINE Flue epidemic and the CDC is all over it after only 7 documented deaths as a result, yet no one has even questioned the safety of this vaccine who has taken so many preciouis lives and forever changed the future of many others. I am so disapointed to see where our children's safety and well being rank in the world today. I hope you continue to give a voice to us who are too small to impact such large pharmeceducial giants. A 15yr old girl in the town I live in has been having complications from Guardasil for several months. I use to think that it would be good for young girls to get, but now that I hear so many bad things about it, it makes me cringe everytime I see the commercial on tv.

My daughter just had the first dose of this shot Monday April 20, 2009. She is 12 years old. A few days later she was very ill. Sore throat, neck, then it went to the eyes and turned into a pink eye type infection.
At first I was chalking it up to the shot. Because she had to also receive her Tetanus Shot to enter school for the next school year.
Then I got sick a week later, and now my 2 year old.
I just briefly read some of things regarding this shot.
Funny, I just watched Your Movie and my daughter wanted to see what you looked like in real life. Which is how I ended up here. Then I found your blog on this shot!
I want to find out if this shot can mutate into a viral that can spread.
If you know anything about this can you please contact me. I will be digging now for more information regarding this shot.
I am always hesitant on shots and my doctor for my child recommended this one. Because he said it was a VIRAL disease. He is not BIG on shots and medication so I took his word. KEY WORD VIRAL!!!
What we have is VIRAL and it happened literally a day and a half after the shots.
I may be way off on this. But, I wanted to throw it out there.

My daughters birthday is in January and I always schedule the kids check ups around their birthday so I remember to make the appts. At her 11 y/o check up, her pediatrician brought up the subject of Gardasil. He explained what it was and what it did and told me that it was perfectly safe. I declined the injection saying she was too young.

At her 12 y/o check up at the beginning of this year, her pediatrician (a different doctor in the same practice) recommended once again that she should have the Gardasil vaccine. My husband and I listened to him explain that it is safe and guards against several strains of cancer causing HPV. I really didn't know anything about this vaccine and felt that her MD must know what he's talking about. I looked at my baby girl sitting on the doctors office cot, with her paper robe modestly wrapped around her... her mis-shapen socks dangling from her feet and the trustworthy look that told me she trusted me to take care of her. And I told the doctor no.

Now I look at my sweet baby girl and thank God that she won't be a statistic. I could have made a horible mistake that day. My baby could have been one of the girls with an adverse reaction to the vaccine or God forbid died from it. I pray for the families who have lost their baby girls to this.

Erin... thank you for opening my eyes to this today. I would be happy to join your fight and help you... just say the word. We have to stop this before more of our sweet baby girls die.

Thank you Erin for keeping this issue alive but sadly the damage continues. I belong to an online community for those who suspect Gardasil injury and new members join daily. With each new member, comes a new story but it's a story that is all too familiar to the seasoned members. It's unbelieveable to me how highly the medical community supports this vaccine yet turns a deaf ear to the slightest suggestion of injury from it. How is that possible. Today's news of the FDA coming down hard on General Mills and Cheerios made me laugh. Of course the FDA finds fault with Cheerios, they'd rather Americans choose a big pharma cholesterol drug than a healthy meal item.

Let's let it pass that Gardasil is an HPV vaccine, not a cancer shot. (That's a marketing angle to avoid talking about the percentages. Let's let it pass that while it is marketed as a cancer preventative, it only goes after 4/30 of the HPV strains that cause 70% cervical cancers. That works out to something like 9%. Would you use a prophylactic that only guards against 9% of pregnancies? Should we let people go around thinking they're protected when they're 91% vulnerable?) Let's let all that pass, for now, and think about the human cost of rushing to market.

So, you are "protected" from 4 out of 30 strains and that is good enough for you? And, it's not 100% in the fight against cervical cancer. As stated, it's not a cancer shot and my Gynecologist does NOT recommend it and does NOT give it. He even feels it shouldn't be called a vaccine! It's just another way for health professionals to make money.

Let's face it, having or dying of cancer is a big money maker and we will NEVER see a real cure for any cancer in our lifetime! Too many jobs will be lost if there were a cure for all or even half of cancers.

Hello Erin, and a Big "Thank You" for helping us with your ground-breaking informational resources and the genuine support you offer to all of us parents. I sometimes think of you as our modern day Robin Hood for fighting against injustice and tyranny.

Today I inadvertently ran into your website without knowing about it, because I was frantically searching for answers in order to make a informed decision whether to "Gardasil" vaccinate my child or not.

You see, when I called her pediatrician's office to request vaccination school records, I was informed I "had" to give my child this Gardasil vaccination, because otherwise, they will not let her in school.

I didn't think anything of it, figuring it was just like any of the other vaccinations before, so I made appointment, but I stayed puzzled, as to why this new specific vacination was "mandated" and not optional!

I mean, I've seen Gardasil's TV commercials, "to be one less case", but I thought it was an option, not mandatory!

It felt to me, as an FDA "imposition", so I started my own on-line web research and read, so many controversies about Gardasil, that now, I am frankly scared. And on top of that, when I told my husband, he said "I would be responsible if anything happened to her". That just croaked me!

Frankly, I don't want her to become another one of those freak adverse effect statistics, so my question to you is:

Is Gardasil, in fact an FDA approved & mandated
"required" vaccination for school entry or just another hoax way to make Merck Pharmaceuticals Company and doctors have a more lucratvie business?

I mean, this is a new "Genetically Altered Virus" containing "aluminum" being injected to girls, which has not been tested long enough, so no one can assure me and/or guarantee me, it wont affect my child in any adverse way, shape or fashion!!!

We really don't know what the long-term neurological and/or immune system disorders effects it may cause.

Not to mention serious or fatal side effects.

And, there is no long-term safety immunity from getting any of the four strains of human papilloma viruses, as it only protects for six years!

I don't want to just blindly believe medical doctors, when they say it is "safe & effective".

Gardasil is not to prevent an "infectious" disease!

As the parent, I must have the choice whether to get my daugther vaccinated with this new drug or not, but certainly not to be "Impositioned" to it, or else she is not be allowed in school - What is that?

Was shocked when I took some political refugees to the local health department last month to get their final vaccinations so they could apply for their permanent residence cards. All immigrant women over 20 are now REQUIRED to get the Gardasil shots to apply for a green card. At $160 a pop and it is a series of 3 required. The nurse at the department was totally against the shot and the requirement for the refugees and said that though all 3 are required, you only have to prove that one was given ..... am having a great time explaining to all the married immigrant women why they have to pay $160 for this shot and what it protects them from ..... just watch, it will soon be mandatory for all. It's all in the money ....

Erin, young females need someone like you. You are awesome to bring light to this serious matter. I, too, am a mother of a 13 year old daughter. For years now and up to just 2 weeks ago, the doctor's office tried to get me to have my daughter vaccinated with Gardasil. I have not let them. They make a parent feel almost guilty for refusing! And, all the NO LESS commericals, come on already ~ WE, AMERICA, should be running commericals about the girls and families that this vaccine hurt or killed.

I will give my daughter all the facts and when she is age 18 (adult) she can make the choice for herself. It is her life and should be her decision. I want to be ONE LESS in playing Russian roulette with a life.

If there were a few things that I coould say to parents considering this vaccine, it would be.
1. Go the the FDA website on approval status of gardasil and see that all the studies do not have to be in until 2013.
Our children being used like lab rats.
2. I could find no information on how long this vaccine will actually last. They don't know
1 year 2 years nothing.Cervical cancer is the 12th cancer on the list to concern yourself with what about all the others? I believe that in England about 1000 people die of cervical cancer a year. What about heart and stroke millions and millions die a year in North America ALONE. We would be better to advise our children on Healthy lifstyle.
3. Was it tested to see if it caused cancer. WHAT IS IN IT
4. Most importantly Merck are trying to scare everyone into this Hoax because their stock had fallen drastically after... remember VIOXX which was finally pulled after many people died.
5. I would never give this to my daughter.I would also worry about long term effects and sterlity.

Our Dr. keeps trying to push this shot on Alexandra (who is now 9) and I said "no way". I even had HPV when I was in my early 20's and I'm still against giving her this shot! Way to go for speaking out about this! I really hope that people listen.
