  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 12 tablespoons butter, cut into chunks
  • 4 ounces high quality unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs, plus 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a square 8x8" baking dish with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
  2. Combine the chocolate chips, butter, and chopped unsweetened chocolate in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high in 30 second bursts, stirring well with a spoon or spatula between bursts, until completely melted and smooth. Allow to cool for a few minutes before continuing.
